The Web TCG robot
Every Web TCG card represents a website. To make them, a small program visits the home page of each site. Here is what it does, and how to stop it.
Version of 20 October 2026
1Who it is
It identifies itself as WebTCG-bot, with the address of this page. It is operated by Alexis Javaux, entrepreneur individuel (SIREN 832 506 539), SAS en cours de création. Contact: contact@web-tcg.com.
2What it reads
- the site’s robots.txt file;
- the home page, and only that;
- the site’s icon (the one the page declares, or /favicon.ico).
It keeps the title, the description, the language and the icon. It opens no other page, fills in no form, signs in nowhere and does not try to get around any protection: a site that refuses it is not read.
3How it behaves
Only a few requests per site, with a short timeout, and at most two passes during a collection. A server shared by many sites receives few requests at a time.
4Refusing it
Add these two lines to your robots.txt: “User-agent: WebTCG-bot” then “Disallow: /”. The robot respects them: it will read nothing on your site.
To have your site’s card removed from the game, use the “Site removal” page (/legal/takedown).
